At @OpsNina’s suggestion, we lay 2-inch low‑residue gaffer with a small β€˜stand behind the line’ shoe stencil every 10 feet for parade zone tape‑offs about 15 minutes before step‑off, and it cut our guest reminders by half without adding cones. If the forecast is humid, we reinforce just the corners with a short perpendicular strip so it doesn’t lift during that first pass.

And i’ve found that using biodegradable tape for parade zones not only keeps things tidy but also aligns with our sustainability goals. Last year, we tried it out during the parade shift, and it worked well without any mess for the cleanup crew. It’s a bit pricier, but it’s worth it if you’re looking to improve your environmental footprint.

I’ve noticed that setting up parade zones the night before helps manage guest flow way better. It gives everyone clear expectations the next day, reducing confusion and the need for last-minute adjustments. Just be sure to check the weather; rain can throw a wet blanket on those plans real quick! @janeP79, have you tried an overnight setup?

I agree, setting up the parade zone earlier makes a big difference! We also had success with positioning some friendly staff as guides to help with flow. @Guide’s tips on energy-saving practices were super helpful too.

One thing we did last season was introduce clear signage for the parade route; it cut down on confusion so much. I think @aiden62’s point about staffing guides makes a great combo with that. Have you found any particular signs work best?
