Standardizing daily restraint checks

I’m consolidating our morning restraint inspections and need a concise, auditable checklist techs can complete in under 7 minutes per train without compromising failure detection. Looking for examples that include torque-stripe verification, allowable latch play (<=0.5 mm), and sensor fault response, ideally formatted to align with ASTM F2291 recordkeeping — happy to trade our current lap bar gauge sheet.

Switched to contrasting torque-stripe paint and a 0.5 mm feeler ‘no-go’ poke on each latch, and it keeps us under 6 minutes per train with photo proof in the form. We added a single dropdown for sensor faults (acknowledge → test → isolate) and tagged each line to ASTM F2291 clause IDs; only caveat is cold mornings can fake the ‘≤0.5 mm’ play, so recheck after the first cycle. Ended up under 7 minutes by etching a half‑millimeter step on the lanyard clip for the poke, then shooting one wide photo that shows the torque stripe and latch head together. Form maps straight to ASTM F2291 fields and an NFC tap on the car stamps train/car/seat; if a seat switch misreads, we allow one reset then pull the row. If NFC’s overkill, @janeP79’s QR route is fine, just make sure the photo angle consistently captures both points.
