Creating a Positive Work Environment

I’ve been thinking a lot about our team’s morale lately and how critical it is to our overall performance. A few weeks ago, we introduced some small team-building activities during our breaks, and the energy shift was incredible. I’m curious if anyone else has tried similar initiatives or has suggestions for fostering a more collaborative atmosphere in our parks.

We did a fun ‘theme park Olympics’ where we competed in silly challenges during breaks — it really brought everyone together, like a family of roller coasters! Just make sure to keep it light and not too competitive, or you might end up having a showdown like at the food court.

I totally get where you’re coming from with team morale… One thing that worked for us was setting up a ‘gratitude wall’ in the break room where team members could post notes of appreciation for each other. It didn’t cost much and really helped boost everyone’s spirits. Just be mindful of keeping it a positive space — sometimes, too much feedback can feel overwhelming.

, I know what you mean! We started doing quick storytelling sessions during lunch breaks, and it’s amazing how sharing laughs about our park experiences lifts morale. It can get tough keeping everyone engaged, though; sometimes, the same few people dominate the conversations, which can be frustrating.
